Make a visa photo that fits the spec
Photo rules are the silent rejection machine of e-visa applications: right size, right background, right file. This free maker frames your photo to the published spec for six destinations, runs plain guidance checks, and produces a single photo or a printable sheet. It is the free companion to the VisaPack checklists on EVisaDocuments.
Private by design: your photo is processed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded to any server. The only things that leave this page are a daily counter and, if you choose to unlock more exports, your email.
1. Add your photo
A plain selfie against a wall is a good start. JPG, PNG or WebP.

Processed on this device only. Nothing is uploaded.
2. Choose the photo spec
3. Position, check, download
Drag the photo inside the frame. The dashed outline is a positioning guide: crown at the top mark, eyes near the eye line, chin at the lower mark. It follows the usual photo spec layout and is a guide, not a measurement.
Guidance checks
- Output size:
- Background: Add a photo to run this check.
- Brightness: Add a photo to run this check.
- File size: Add a photo to run this check.
These checks are guidance from simple measurements, never a guarantee. Final acceptance is always the decision of the authority that issued the spec.
Two free exports per day on this connection; after that, an email unlocks unlimited exports for the rest of the day. Uploading, positioning and checking are always free. The single photo JPG is exported at the preset size and made to stay small, because many e-visa portals cap the upload size.
The specs this maker uses
These are the commonly published photo dimensions for each destination, as of 2026. Always confirm the current spec on the official portal for your application before you submit, because authorities update their rules and individual visa types can differ.

How the checks work, honestly
- Sizing and framing are exact. The export is rendered at the preset's pixel size from the part of your photo inside the frame. That part is simple math, and the maker does it precisely.
- Background and brightness are estimates. The maker samples the edges and the overall light of what is inside the frame and gives a plain verdict. It cannot see shadows, glasses glare, head coverings rules or facial expression rules, all of which real checkers also judge.
- Whiten background has limits. It replaces a plain, connected background with white, working in from the edges of your photo. It works best when the background is already plain; it is not a studio retake, and it never touches the person in the middle.
- The print sheet is real size. Copies are tiled at the preset's true size on a 4x6 inch sheet at 300 DPI, so a ruler on the printout should measure the same millimetres as the spec. Print at 100 percent scale, with no fit to page, for that to hold.
- Acceptance is not ours to promise. This tool sizes and frames a photo to a published spec and flags the obvious problems. The authority reviewing your application makes the final call.
